A Recipe Book based around the 'Spear Pie' legend of the Battle Of Stamford Bridge (25th September 1066). The origin is unclear at present but there are many references and stories going back many centuries to support the tradition. The Battle Of Stamford Bridge Society has revived this tradition as part of the celebration and commemoration of this famous and momentous battle. The book also contains many other Old Traditional recipes with some modern twists and a short History of Pies. All proceeds will go to the Society to help fund future events, re-enactments and vistor centre/attractions.
